Bredonborough.
A first-thing call from Declan: Simon Heyworth of SAM had a fall & has damaged a vertebra in his neck. Our mastering is off for this week. Fortunately the prognosis is good, the hospital anticipating a full recovery, albeit with neck brace. A call to Tim at Parford Well B&B Of Wondrousness to cancel a call from Nicky Heyworth to apprise of the condition.
T is very happy that her husband will be home.
Ruminations underway.

From the reply to TLev’s enquiry of possible operations next year…
… not accepting any engagements after this december 4th. when i'm at the WFC near Ground Zero. after that, i'm concentrating on writing, for at least the first 9 months of 2011. it may be that the WFC is the completion of my life as a professional player. i'll continue playing, working with students, perhaps churches & charity performances, but have yet to see whether the world needs more of me than that.
hiatuses are part of my overall trajectory, so who knows?

… we have now booked a conference/retreat centre in the Oise, Northern France for July 29th- August 1st. This will be a fully residential and catered four day event for a maximum of 45 people.
What is becoming clear from the correspondence we have received is that the number of aspiring DU students far exceeds the number of those qualified or sufficiently experienced to teach them. Accordingly, the thrust of this experiment will be "Access to 'The Dramatic Universe'" or as George phrased it - DU Demystified.
Unlike the usual seminars, there will be nothing on the agenda except to address the question of how to demystify Dramatic Universe, and make it accessible to lay-readers - without necessarily trying to extend and transcend or plumb the depths of JGB's original thesis. Approaches are likely to be through, but not restricted to the medium of the spoken word.
The purpose of my letter to you now is to pass on information, and also to express the hope that you may agree to participate in any way that you wish, even if it only to send good wishes.
